I'm right there along with ya! According to my ultrasounds, I have three due dates of Sept 9th, 19th, and the 23rd. My OB says they are going off the furthest date because it is the furthest date due. Have you considered talking to your doc about a scheduled induction? I talked to mine about it and she said the soonest that she would do it would be the 7th (or about 38 1/2 weeks). I understand your aggravation! Trust me! Many women have been in the same boat, it really sucks for there to be something else like this to go with any other possible "what the f***" with pregnancy! Good luck! Talk to your OB about your concern, she'll answer all your questions, that's what she is there for.

I have the same question, b/c my periods were like 33-34 days apart and it seems like the docs give you a due date with the normal 28 day cycle...how in the heck does that work?!!!
The only thing I can say is to think of it this way...they say when you have an ultrasound that the techs are pretty close to how far along you really are, I go by that. Another thing is if I were you I would expect baby very soon, more than likely way before 9/24. B/c usually baby will come about 2 weeks before hand.
It sounds like your doc is just scheduling you for a normal weekly visit, b /c they arent sure. They probably figure the later the date they have down, the better, b/c if they tell you sept 6 and you dont have him til sept 18, you might be worried, b/c you were told you were due 9/6.
Thats just my guess.

I really hate to say this, but you need to just let it go. A due date is pretty much meaningless. Some babies are born on due dates, but not all of them. Whether you are 38 weeks or 37 weeks or 39 weeks or 36 weeks just doesn't matter at this point. You should be focussed on being healthy, getting ready mentally for labor, and getting ready to bring a baby home.
So let the nurse set your appointment date for whenever and don't worry about it. It won't make a difference as to when you go into labor.

I am also going through the same thing! It is very frustrating I know. We asked my Dr the same question and she said that there is technology to tell everything except when your real due date is. If you go according to your last period there is one date, but going by abdomen measurements and ultra sounds tells a different story. Especially if you happen to be carrying a baby that is larger than the average. All you can do is be ready and ignore what they say because the baby will come when it's good and ready.

Due dates are just estimates, and can be off by as much as two weeks. Only 5% of women deliver on their due dates, and the vast majority of first time moms deliver at around 41.5 weeks, with the main average being between 40-41 weeks.
Your baby will come when it's ready, not when your doctor says you're due. :) Just sit back, relax, and don't stress.

My doctor told me that a due date is just a tentative date.... and that it means i could have the baby two weeks before or after that date...... Its impossible for them to tell exactly when your baby will get bored and decide to pop into the world. I wouldnt worry though.... just stay comfortable, don't stress and follow your appointments. Everything will be ok, and that baby will come out when he/she is ready reguardless of the due date =)
