My 11 year old got home from school last November and called me in my office. She said "Dad I have some good news and some bad news." I said tell me both.

So she said, "the good news is I got 100% on my Science test." I said congratulations. Then she said "the bad news is Deval Patrick won the Governor's election - that means when I grow up I'll have to support all the kids who got 70s...."

" From the mouths of babes". Yes, she got it right, unfortunately, but then that is why she got a 100%.

Your daughter is wrong. Which isn't surprising since she's 11.

By itself, no gubernatorial election is going to significantly change the way the economy works in the next ten years, at least not in a predictable way.

And, believe it or not, people who get 100% on a science test in the sixth grade are neither the only people who contribute to society, nor the only ones who earn an adequate wage.

Still, congrats on having a daughter with good grades.

Judging by the leadership of most American corporations (and the government), odds are she'll be working for the ones who got 70's.

Not that your 11 year old daughter said this. But then again, with you, truth is only in your name.

70s? What makes her think the standards are THAT high??? If Bush had gotten 70s he'd be Pope JP reincarnated.

No, it's not right.. if she got a 100% on her science test she'd be a democrat.. and too smart to fall for the propaganda from the right.

i don't know who Devil Patrick is, but chances are she will be out of office when your daughter grows up.

So she doesn't understand term limits obviously. She's wrong. She shouldn't be talking about politics at age 11 anyway.

Yes, it's "sad" she'll have to support future Republican politicians in the mold of the current president.

My 4 year old daughter thinks that corporate welfare sucks and doesn't allow a true supply and demand economy.

The other day she said "Corporate welfare sucks and doesn't allow a true supply and demand economy"

A real Darwinian, my girl is.

What I don't understand is why aren't CONS mad at their representatives that didn't eliminate handouts when they've been in power for so long. It seems to be the #1 issue with you guys, but you still think your reps are the sh&t.

I think if your 11 year old daughter is thinking like that it is pretty sad. She must hear a lot of prejudice crap coming out of mommy and daddy.

No. Look at where President Bush is with very average grades.
