It's different with each trick. There are all kinds of crazy contraptions, that could be very ellaborate to very simple. If you knew, you'd think "okay... so basically, Chris Angel is a dork who thinks he's cool because he can trick people into thinking he can perform magic, and those people will fawn over him for it."
I've never watched him, but I've seen David Blaine, and a few of his tricks are easy to figure out.
