And it's dropping.
Interestingly, both of the democratic front runners are members of this congress. As a result, I find their optimism rather humorous.

i think of the low approval scores of Congress and the President basically teach that the wide-unfold public is disillusioned with Washington all at the same time. lots of Republicans opt to declare, properly Bush would desire to be extra primary because of the fact Congress has a decrease score. i don't think of that's precise. right this is something to maintain in perspective. After 9/eleven, President Bush's approval score shot as much as ninety 5%. Congress peaked at fifty 9%. human beings under no circumstances like the belief of Washington politicians, that's basically the image that "Congress" creates in peoples' minds, no count if situations are good or undesirable, anyone is in many situations cynical with regard to the belief of Washington politicians. Its lots much less complicated to have faith in a individual than the thought of a collection of politicians, so as that's why the Presidents' approval score is in many situations greater, whoever that's.

Uh, no. 18 approval doesn't mean 82 percent disapproval. It means a lot of people have no opinion, and a lot of people haven't weighed in, because rating the Congress isn't as important as evaluating the President. By contrast, Bush is at 31 percent approval and 65 percent disapproval. A Democrat will not only win in 2008 but increase the Democratic lead in both houses of Congress.

Well, Mr. Unpaid Republican Shill. I could say to you that I believe the Democrats are trying to change the direction of the nation.
They wanted to end the war in Iraq, which the vast majority of Americans disapprove of. Republicans do not want anything to change, even though the American people are asking Congress and the White House to do exactly that.
Now, also, it's not the new Democratic Congress. It's the new Congress. The Dems may have control over the committees, but they do not have a veto override majority, which means that the people who are resistant to changing anything, meaning the Republican Congress and the Executive Branch, are holding them back from making the changes the American people demanded.
If anything, I'd say we need to vote in, at the very least, a Democratic president. More likely, to get anything to change, you need the Legislative and Executive Branches under Democratic control.
Then the American people will get the changes they asked for. If you wish to look for someone to blame, you need only look into the mirror, GOP Man. Place the blame where it truly belongs.

No. The Congress has an 18% OVERALL approval rating, meaning Republicans and Democrats. This low figure is due to the fact that there are only a couple more Democrats in each chamber, a very slim majority. It only shows that there are too many Republicans still in there until the next elelctions. If we can have honest counts in those elections this time, you will see the Republican numbers fall and the OVERALL approval rate go up.

First an arrogant, cowardly, contemptible, incompetent, corrupt Republican-led Congress stood by as Bush ran rip shod over our Constitution and attacked another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States.
Then an arrogant, cowardly, contemptible, incompetent, corrupt Democratic-led Congress - that was elected on its promise to end this insipid 'war' - has done nothing to keep its promise in eight months!
It's time for all the rotten "Republicrats" to go!! -RKO- 08/27/07

the reason the approval rating is so low, is because they were suppose to stop rolling over for Bush like the Republicans did. There is still to many republicans in congress to block what Democrats are trying to do, one more round of getting rid of Republicans and Congress will start to look better

WOW! How can you dump them when they have accomplished so much. They changed the name of a few buildings, then they voted themselves a pay raise, then they tried to see who could introduce the most pork in bills and they slandered our troops in time of war. How can their approval rating be soooo loooow?

Well, how about evaluating the ones in your voting district and judging their job on a case by case basis?
Have I been doing this wrong all these years?
