idk there are the best laptops for the money. a macbook has a intel core 2 duo, 1 gb memory, and 120gb for $1099.

because they're more expensive, also you sacrifice the compatibility of windows unless you want to shell out extra money for a copy of windows. But personally if i was going to buy a laptop id buy a mac because my main reason for not using a mac now is because of games. but laptops aren't very good for games anyway so that argument is void lol

There's really no reason not to. You can run Windows on a Mac if you have software that you can't live without with Bootcamp or Parallels.

I wouldn't talk anyone out of purchasing one. I am on mine right now and am loving every minute of it.
