My husband broke his tibia right below his knee into 16 pieces in March, and I have needs, as does he. We had sex a couple of days after his surgery, I just took control so he did not injure himself further. He had to keep his leg in a brace so that stabilized his leg from any movement or injury and it has been 5 months now and he has healed up beautifully. I would say we probably had sex at least twice a week after his surgery. Just work at your own pace, you know your limitations.

I can give you a good answer because my husband and I have been in this very spot... no kidding.
I had knee surgery last summer and we waited a while but I can tell you, about a month after we tried it out...it was very awkward and in all honesty we spent about 30 minutes laughing hysterically about how to do it...

It becomes trial and error if your the female with the knee problem.... Position is everything. Imagine being a female propped up on a ton of pillows and the guy trying to get in there, not jostle the leg around, keep it on the pillows and still do his thing?? It's funny and it happened to my husband and I.
You can have fun with it, it is possible to be done.. you can try out a variety of places to have sex that you ordinarily may not think about, like the toilet... tried, tested, and it works lol.

It's not something I asked the dr about... it was something that we just tried in my case cause we both were in the frame of mind of wanting something...and I spent a lot of time crying thinkin I had ruined our sex life with my leg... but to be perfectly honest... we found many ways to go about having sex and we had more sex with my knee surgery/recovery than we had before lol.

Have fun, play safe (hehe this one can be taken more than one way now lol), and enjoy. Above all else, be prepared to laugh the first few times you have sex after surgery lol... We still laugh about it at times. Later on, depending what you had done, you may even be able to use sex as a form of physiotherapy (don't tell the dr's that one)... One of my exercises was to get on all 4's and rock back and forth...need I say more?? Or me straddling him...that was physio for me... helped to loosen up my knee joint.

As sad as this sounds, in some ways, my accident did a lot for my relationship (sexually speaking) with my husband. We got closer on all levels because he helped me with my physio...he would be there wiping away my tears, being positive, telling me every day he loved me and that I'd be walking again soon and he'd still be there by my side, even when I wanted to give up.

Be careful, you don't want to move things around too soon or you could cause yourself pain and damage..but you can still have intimate times and enjoy sex, even while lying in bed after surgery lol.

Absolutely no pressure or straining on the knee or you will cause swelling that could lead to complications and or infection. You would have to lie there on your back, and let her do the work.

Mc Duff? You do not get on your knees or put weight on them at all when having sex?

It is probably okay as long as you are on your back and on the floor rather than a bed, so that there is no chance that you will sink somewhat into a mattress and put pressure on the back of your leg and knee.

I really think you should ask your doctor. In my opinion, if she were on top and took it easy, it would be okay. But what if she fell back on your knee accidentally? Consider all the possibilities. Why not just do oral right now?

If you are old enough you should already be knowledgeable enough to know how to have sex under any circumstances. As long as you are not putting pressure on your operated knee, you are good to go.

I vote for her on top.....
This reduces the chance of you re-injuring your knee (due to your resting on the injured knee while performing in Missionary position.)

And how does your knee play a part in this process? I am wondering.....and should just shut up.

that's gotta be something new, just exactly how does the
knee enter in ? (just keep it out of the way if you don't
want to use it).
