I live in Spain and the fact there's a new law in all Spain bars.
If the bar is bigger than 100m2, the owner has to do a smoking area and a no smoking area, if the bar is smaller, the owner has to choose allowing or not smoke.
At first lots of bars said that were no smokers bars, but people didn't like so now you can smoke in almost all the bars, and in the restaurants they'll ask wich area do you want.
So don't worry, 95% of the Spanish bars allow it.
Bye

as far as i know yes, but i know that in majorca there is a new law which means that the bar owner has to apply for either a smoking licence or a nonsmoking licence. if he chooses smoking then thats ok, but if he chooses non then you have to sit in smoking area of bar. i think that it is a much more sensible idea than here. but then again it is no hardship to sit outside in the hot countries!!!!!
