I wanted to know if other women have expereinced similar symptoms as me. I noticed after a month of my first dose I have been getting constant headaches and one possibly a migrained that lasted a few days. I also had lots of spotting every now and then. It is like being on your period all the time you never know when your going to spot. When your on your period you only bleed for a week and this one feels like it's constantly coming. What other symptoms have you women had? What are you thoughts about this? Good or bad for our bodies? Let me know..I'm thinking of getting off of it and swtiching to the patch (what I've used in the past). What do you all think? Thanks!

You're not the only woman with these symptoms.
I personally think it's a crock that women are expected to accept all the health risks of hormonal birth control, just so guys can have sex without the responsibility of birth control, fatherhood or anything else.
Depo and all other forms of hormonal birth control will SHORTEN YOUR LIFE and LOWER THE QUALITY OF YOUR LIFE.
- Mood swings
- Headaches
- Liver problems
- Libido problems
- Cardiovascular problems
- Embolism - i.e., blood clots that will kill you.
It's all in the little insert they put in the packaging. It's NOT WORTH THE RISK.
Get out of it as soon as you can.

I think the depo shot is probably one of the stupidest bc. I went on it after my daughter was born for 1 cycle. I realized like you did the reason you don't pg on depo is your constantly bleeding and feeling like crap, sick constantly. Get off it ASAP. Put in answers, depo and trying to conceive. You'll see what I mean by all the women who haven't had periods or have other problems after being on it for a long time. Depo is nasty. If you had no problems with the monthly patch I would suggest going back.

my doctors tried me on the depo pill first...(its like the shot but it doesn't take three months to wear off)..just to see how my body reacts to it because i have mestral problems...they because worse on the pill and they said some women have that happen...some don't bleed at all and other bleed the whole time they are on the shot...the shot is very hard on your system you can only be on it for about 6 month and then you have to be off for awhile...people who stay on it for over a year+ have problems being able to concieve...I would suggest that you take up these problems with your doctor and he too might tell you to switch to the patch...i think though if he tells you to wait it out and your not comfortable with that they just tell him straight out that you no longer want the shot and you want to switch to the patch....GOOD LUCK!!! and to the lady before me: when they first made the birth control pill it was for the men...but the men weren't taking it like they were suppose to so they made it the womens responsiblity...go figure

I dont have info on the depo shot other than it made my friend gain 15 lbs. Yuck. But, i would NOT suggest the patch as I think it may have been recalled. It was causeing major health problems in some women .. like heart attacks, strokes, death etc. Maybe, if you dont like the pill, try the Nuva Ring. Its new and I've heard good things.

I was on the shot for 2 years and never had any problems with it. My best friend was on it for a year and had all kinds of stuff with it. She spotted all the time, really bad acne, and gained a bunch of weight. Everyone is different when it comes to the shot. Everybody reacts different.

I hated the depo shot. I got it right after my first child was born and I bled for 7 mths straight. The Dr said it was just my body adjusting to the hormones. BS. Never will do that one again.

I loved it the first 3 months I was on it...the second time is another story...I had an allergic reaction, and there is nothing else could be done about it till it wore off. I tried to get pregnant after my period returned to normal...I was under teh impression that if you got your period every month you were ovulating (mine came like clockwork) well...I came to find that the shot had stopped me from ovulating, and I had to take clomid to get pregnant.

The first time i was on the shot i loved it after the first 12 weeks of everything you said about it all stopped including periods it was wonderful. After i had my daughter i went back on and it was HORRIBLE never again
