Can I walk a mile through the snow barefoot? I have walked barefoot in the snow before, without any problems, although it wasn't that deep. I keep the rest of my body warm and I've gone barefoot all winter long with actually *less* cold and numb toes than when I still wore shoes! But I don't want to wear the flipflops at all, in any kind of weather.

I have tried both my my bare feet. Walking a mile though I would choose the snow. Sometimes sand can get really hot, I once convinced a fireman who was with his brigade training at the beach to carry me across the hot sand so my feet would not get burned...he was my hero. Depending on the thickness of the snow I would probably take them off and go barefoot if I could.

...snow with the flip flops...but I'd carry a snow shovel with me and either pack the snow down as I go or scoop it with the shovel...to do this for a mile would expend energy and perhaps the blood flow would get to my feet and help keep them warm...I don't use breath mints cause I end up eating them like candy rather than just one or two now and then...

a mile through hot sand you can always sit down and rest your feet and you get use to the sand after a while, but with the snow you could get frost bite and lose a toe
