I used to have a betta and I put him in bottled drinking water all of the time, never had a problem with it.

Do not use bottled water. It lacks essential nutrients that your betta needs. Spring water will be fine, but make sure you use a water conditioner on it first to neutralise the chlorine and chloramine in the water that is toxic to your fish.

Bottled drinking water is the exact same thing as what comes out of your tap. It is city drinking water (hence, the name, "drinking water"), and while it may be filtered, it still has chlorine and chloramine and all the other added elements your city puts in its water. So, no, it is not as good as spring water and you would have to add a detoxifier/dechlorinator.

It might actually be better since spring water isn't as filtered. Just make sure to use a water treater/dechlorinator in any kind of water that you use for your betta.

It doesn't matter which water you use, you still need to use a conditioner on the water you add

hope that helps
Good luck
