My friend showed me this article: http://www.oldamericancentury.org/14pts.htm

It says some things, like America becoming fascist. Its so chilling and it just might be true. Lousy Democrats cant inspire anything, voter apathy, GOP takes over the government, might end up as worst as the worst of Communist China.

If this does happen, im moving to Europe. It may be a socialism there, but at least they respect people.

What will remind Americans of democracy, voting, and having a voice in government? We have a lot of media, especially online. Perhaps if more people vote, even if the opposition to the GOP is horrible, we might not have a facist goverment.

Rightists are so mean, and leftists aren't too smart...

Im just concerned for the democracy i believe and live in. Its not perfect, but i believe we can improve. I wish the founding fathers were here to see this. I believe they will share my concern.

Just don't speak... Please.

You have no room to say "leftists aren't too smart" when you clearly don't know what it means to be left and you evidently don't know anything about Europe.

"It may be socialism there [Europe]..."
Jesus, one of the most ignorant statements I've read so far on Yahoo. There are at least 45 countries in Europe, to say that they all use the same style of government is just asinine and ignorant. Go learn what socialism is and refrain from voting until you do.

Here is the DICTIONARY DEFINITION of Fascism:
fascist
n, adj

Definition: authoritarian
Antonyms: democrat, liberal

Fascism = Total Control

For those too dumb to know what Antonym is, it means opposite.

This is not my opinion, this is fact.

Note that if a disaster like 9/11 or Katrina or something else pretty large happens, the President has the power to declare martial law over the entire country making him the supreme power. When that happens, THEN we will be in a Fascist state. Some would argue that if the President can appoint these powers to himself, then we are already in a fascist state, I would not go that far though. Do remember though that it was George W Bush that made martial law over the whole country thing possible. The same George W Bush whos grandfather sold Nazi Germany 1/3 of their raw materials.

The sad part is that it is ill-informed conservative voters that are allowing this to happen. Voters that do not realise this is what we are coming to and dragging the rest of the country down with them.

This whole conspiracy garbage about the Republicans turning the United States into a fascist regime is just another Democrat propaganda ploy. The GOP doesn't have the desire or the strength to take over the government -- what the GOP primarily advocates is protecting our country from people who hate us for no other reason than the fact that we're Americans, and they're also advocating returns to basic values that personify the majority of the American people (taking responsibility for your own actions, accepting the consequences for your actions, doing what you can to provide for yourself and your family, etc). You should be much more worried about the Democrats because they want to make us all 100% dependent upon the government. If that happens, the government will have total control, and instead the United States will end up as even worse than the former Soviet Union. Want to lose all your civil liberties and be ruled by a regime that controls virtually every aspect of your lives? Then vote Democrat.

The United States clearly shares theses "identified 14 characteristics common to those fascist regimes."

I believe that America has been on track to become a facist state for decades and it has in effect become a facist state run by two parties who support the establishment elite. Multinational corporations have the greatest influence on our government and media. Many people have become pragmatic rather than sticking with their principles.

Consequently, our culture is being pushed toward consumerism, overconsumption, and materialism. Our police and security forces are focused on protecting physical resources and control of the populace through spying and secret databases that are inaccurate. Illegal wiretaps were common in previous decades, but now they are legalized. Your wealth and social status makes a big difference in how you are treated by the police and judiciary. We imprison a greater percentage of our population than any other industrialized country.

The executive branch has taken the role of three branches of government when dealing with anyone who is perceived to be supporting terrorism. Unfortunately, truth means nothing. Perception has become reality. The media is now an effective propaganda machine being very effective in maintaining the perception of being impartial and truthful.

The US has been running successful illegal operations throughout the world for decades through the CIA. Impeachment of any administration that runs unlawful operations is important to re-establish a balance between the branches of our goverment.

If we don't impeach George, we will need to impeach Hillary.

All it takes for any country to become a fascist state is for one party to decide it has all the answers. Then, if they have the power and the lack of ethics to actually take over and eliminate their competition, they cancell elections, fire the courts and abolish the constitution (which guarantees the right to assemble, criticize the government and free speech).
It can happen anyday, and judging by a lot of people on this board, plenty of people would support it whole heartedly, that would be until the police came bashing their door in.

Yes, your concern is well-founded, but the Dems are becoming emboldened by recent events such as the resignations of Gonzales and Rove. It's not over till someone like Giuliani is elected for 8 years.

Those professors are left leaning because they can still think for themselves.

In a Government that tells people what to think and tells you what you must believe those professors are a threat.

Every Neocon wants to silence every individual who seeks truth and thinks for themselves.

They want this to be another Nazi Germany

Nation ID = SS Nazi's saying to the Jews "Show us your papers"

Fascist Government?

Not if 20 million American have anything to say about it!

Ohh - "Summer Terror Attack" = Martial Law - Remember, Bush signed into law special National control (Dictatorship) for himself if any natural or man made disaster takes place.

That means he and Cheney stay in control and there will be no 2008 election. That means they can start Martial LAw and quiet the dissent by force and a round-up into FEMA camps if the American people do not obey!

Then 20 Million Americans will not be able to say anything about it!

Fact

Demikins and Republicrats LOVE to confuse fascism with Socialism. Hitler began as a Socialist, then he confiscated all the guns and thus the resistance. The few broken old guns remaining required as much foolhardiness to shoot as guts so there were fewer than ever shooting back. Hitler selected his favorite "standoffish" group, the Jews and the "Hate Object race" was born.
Looks like YT is the "selected "Hate Object race"...in America.

The only facists are the Judicial Activists.

Judges have removed more freedom in the USA than any other department of government.

Beware the unelected Judges!

That's what's great about our democracy. If you are too mean, or too stupid .. eventually you'll get voted out. Hopefully we're just in a lull with this Bush-Clinton years. What this country could really use is a fresh voice with character and charisma (like JFK). Someone to get excited about and rekindle patriotism.

its too much of the same old same old now a days

anything could happen

We are all just human beings, no different than the human beings of Nazi Germany or Stalin Russia. There is no guarantee that we won't go in the same direction someday under the right conditions.
