First change each mixed number to an improper fraction:
34/3 x 50/7
Nothing cancels, so we multiply straight across:
(34 x 50) / (3 x 7)
= 1700/21 Divide to get a mixed number:
= 80 20/21
that's it!

First, change the mixed numbers into improper fractions. Do this by multiplying the whole number times the denominator. Then add the numerator to the product and you have the new numerator. Like so:
9 7/3 becomes 34/3
7 1/7 becomes 50/7
Now you have:
34/3 * 50/7
Multiply the numerators and then the denominators.
34*50 = 1700
3*7 = 21
Now you have 1700/21
Simplify.
The answer is 80 20/21

I'll show you the process. To start, take the whole numbers and convert them into fractions. 9 would be 27/3, and 7 would be 49/7. Then add those to the fraction (27/3 + 7/3 = 34/3, and 49/7 + 1/7 = 50/7). Then, multiply the top numbers together (34 x 50) and the bottom numbers together (3 x 7). That gives you 1,700/21. Now divide 1,700 by 21 (80.95). Multiply .95 x 21 (20), and your answer is 80 20/21.

its easier to put it into 2 improper fractions (34/3 x 50/7)
then you just multiply numerator by numerator and denominator by denominator (1700/21)
and then simplify (80 20/21)
