They need a constant supply of snails that their teeth don't grow to long

The best thing you could do, is getting a 2.5 gallon tank and get a plant from your store, they usually have snail eggs on them, and you will have snails in no time

Just ask them if they usually have snails on their plants

And don't use the snails from your garden

Hope that helps
Good luck

Any type of puffer will eat snails. Make sure they're smaller that they're eye so they can crush the shells. If not, then they'll just suck out the main body part, defeating the purpose of wearing down their teeth. No you can't use regular garden snails because they will usually contain chemicals that you don't want in your tank.

They would eat crushed snails. It might also be better for them with all the nutrition. No, you could buy them and keep them in a glass bowl and just put fish food there and keep them alive.
