with a s-viedo. you should have gotten it with your laptop. if your tv is not able to view the laptop screen, you can go to best buy and buy a piece that will let you hook your laptop to the tv.
that is a load of crap
you shouldnt have gotten s-video with your laptop
i got a laptop about 5 months ago and i have DVI
you can only do it if your laptop graphics card supports TV out
if you have a VGA port you can connect using a vga to vga cable
or look for a VGA to RCA cable(yellow white and red)
it depends on what kinda of tv you have and what ports you have on your tv.

You need a video converter if it is a old TV. if IT is a flat screen is should have the RGB connections on the side of the TV. You can buy a converter cable for 15 dollars and connect that way.....
the converter is probably 200 + dollars..
