Are you kidding in Nam we had 4 year old kids trying to mine our vehicles. And 14 year old boys were serving in the North Vietnamese Army as infantry soldiers.

That is not America over there partner. They go by a whole different set of rules about when a boy or girl is an adult.

And if you'd been watching the news you'd have seen a lot of the Afgan fighters were as young as 9 years old. Don't know how to read or write but know how to handle an AK-47 in combat.

And in this country Chesty Puller, "The Marine's MARINE," actually joined the Marine Corps when he was only 14 years old.

A 15 year old boy can use an AK47. They use their children as "bait" and I'm talking younger than 15. It's sad, but it happens. In Vietnam, they used their children, and the military had to kill them, or be killed themselves. Same in Iraq. Let's say a teen came after your family with a gun or a bomb strapped to their body, what would you do? Let them kill you and your family, or kill them and save your family? I know what I would do. I hate the thought of such young people being used this way, but the Iraqi insurgents are very barbaric in their fighting.

15 is not necessarily so innocent. Think of the school shootings we have seen in recent years. Consider Michael Carneal -- he was only 14 when he killed 3 in his school. (http://www.michaelcarneal.com/)

It is so easy to sit in judgement when you are not right there. There is so much we don't know about what is happening in every thing we see. All you hear is what either the military or the press tell you -- and neither will tell you everything.

Until it is you who is in the situation those Marines were in, don't sit in judgement.

A 15 year old is plenty old enough to be a soldier.

JUAN Don't say WE had 4 year olds trying to mine our vehicles in NAM. I never heard of such a thing in either of my tours there. Perhaps if you weren't molesting them they wouldn't have been out to get you. Ridiculous stories like that make all veterans look bad.

(a) Fifteen-year-old boys are perfectly capable of holding an AK47 and blowing away soldiers, and have done in many arenas of war.

(b) In the mess and fog of war, it's amazing whenever civilians DON'T get shot by accident.

this exposes the claim that the US wants to spread democracy .it is cruelty that they are spreading.
the horror is that when this is all over, these marines and others like them, will go home carrying this savagery in them . before going to war, they were good citizens acting in a humane way .after war, the animal in them will be loosed . so let's see what will happen.
