When I turn my computer on it turns off immediately. It was doing this on occasion, but now it is as soon as I turn it on.

What could this be?

I do not have the cover on the computer (long story...but I thought that might be an issue)

Let me know any ideas you might have. I will appreciate any and all responses!

This could be a number of things

1) A virus you have to format your computer

2) A piece of hardware may be loose or have a bad connection (full of dust because you have no covers)

3) the computers power supply could be faulty you may need to get it replaced

4) your cpu could be overheating or the sensors are malfunctioning...do all the fans work?

I can't really give you a why because it could be anything if the pc won't even startup. But basically what you described is one of the symptoms leading to all the possible problems I listed.

Power problem or heating issue.

Make sure your heat sync is securely mounted on your processor.

Make sure your power supply isn't dead.

Check your motherboard for capacitors that are bulging or have fluid coming out of them.
