Actually Amino group is both. The basicity is due to presence of lone pair of electrons present with nitrogen atom that can b donated in presence of suitable reagent but acidity due to H atom that can be lost as a proton. So it bcomes a function of reagent u use.

Since an Amino Group will react with a Carboxylic Acid it must be basic.

It is weakly basic. Think of ammonia. The reaction of an amino group to an acid works the same way.

It is BASIC.
The amine group will react with a carboxylic acid to form a peptide link - very important in biology.
