Have an outsider come in to do some team building activities with your sales staff. This should include healthy conflict resolution, helping people voice their opinions, respecting boundaries for oneself and others, and committing to not gossiping.

Work on building the staff morale -- have some fun stuff to do, but do it during work hours so it doesn't interfere with family times. (Let's face it, everyone would rather be home than at work). Even ordering in lunch once in awhile would be good, or announce - "tomorrow we'll have some massage therapists in the lobby to help reduce your stress," or a manicurist, or whatever. The cost will be little compared to the increase in morale, and studies show that happy employees work harder and more productively.

Have realistic expectations of all those different personality types working together and emphasize individual strengths for the good of the goal. At the same time, respect that people have a life outside of work, and encourage them to make the most of it.

Don't have too many meetings where people just drone on and on, including yourself!

I have to ask this question. If your staff can't co-operate with each other, who's fault is it: the employees, or the boss? If the boss/manager would clearly state out the rules/regulations of the positions - they would understand if they continue to argue/ or in any other way being uncooperative, they can find themselves unemployed.

Install monthly sales quota's for every sales team member

That's it, my friend!

This is what I did and it does work. One more thing, and its the most important of all of the above listed items:

If you make a promise to do something, then do it or don't make that promise.

Become a "Promise-Keeper", your the Chief Executive Officer, and the leader of your company, so start leading!

Thank you,

Set up a meeting. Communicate the plan and show how cooperating is the way to achieve company objectives. Divide them into teams possibly. Ask them why they are not cooperating. What results are you looking for? Communicate that clearly and often.

You just might remind them that if they can't co operate, they will be dismissed. They need to work together for the common goal of building a business. YOU have to be tough... or they will rule YOU.

meet with each of them one by one and find out what their concerns, complaints are and what can be done to fix them. if that doesnt work try a meeting with the whole team at once and lay down some ground rules for how the meeting is going to go.

Have each employee email you their work related issues then bring it up at a group meeting. 1 bad attitude on a team does hinder all team players.

give them an insentive. like if you all work together for a week without any major complains YOU will color your hair green or mop the floors for a week. Things like that. If they cant work together even for a week. Then find out why and deal with that problem.
