So, my mom is now making me get a physical checkup. I hate going.....the last time i went was like 3 years ago. Plus I'm not fully comfortable with my doctor, my old doctor was an elderly lady and she was very nice and comforting but she retired and now i have a new doctor and well she's not very maternal If you know what I mean....None of the mushy gushy stuff, very staright forward. I really don't want to go, but I know I'm gonna have to. II don't have the sexiest body, in fact i hate my body and I also hate waiting for the doctor to stop looking at me when I'm naked.....So my question is What do they do at a Physical check up? And what do you think about/ do when they're looking down there? P.S. Ladies do you shave down there for your physical?

The doctor is totally unconcerned with how "sexy" you are.
It depends on what type of physical you're talking about?
A general health physical just check you out all over and looks for any problems. They check your weight, blood pressure, height, check your spine and bones. They might take blood and urine samples.
A gynecological physical normally consists of a pelvic exam where the doctor puts her fingers in your vagina and presses on your lower abdomen to feel for any lumps or other abnormalities. She might swab your vagina inside for culture tests. She might use a speculum to hold your vagina open. This might be a little painful but mostly you feel the pressure from being open.
You do not need to shave for either exam.
And as far as what to think about, I just think about whatever. A doctor with a good bedside manner knows how to talk to a patient during the exam to keep them relaxed.

This is what they do to me when I go for my physical:
Look in my eyes/nose/ears/mouth
Fell my throat
Listen to my chest/stomach/back
Breast exam
Push on stomach
Blood Pressure
Look down there/examine it/feel inside
While they are doing that I get embarrased also, but I try to think of happy events that have occured lately, or play my favorite song in my head, anything to keep my mind off of it.

Don't worry. I am your age and I just got my Physical checkup last month. They ask you really personal questions, like What kind of grades to you normally get? Or " How many glasses of milk do you drink daily??? Don't worry. Its all part of their job. If you are really uncomfterble, ask your mom to change doctors.

If you are uncomfortable with the new doctor ask your mom to see another doctor instead, and tell her why.
Shaving is a personal preference, some do, some do not.
Just remember to relax. Hold your mom's hand if needed.

check ur heigh wieght shots pee in a cup vaginal ans anus exam look in ears nose and throat ect.
