Use any jackknife or Safety Stanley utility knife and srape a surface. If it's plastic all you'll see is black comming off . If it's black painted aluminum you will see ut immediately.
I'm 99% sure it's a weight saving cheap black plastic that will eventually warp and leak because it does not have the same expansion and contraction rates as does aluminum.
You're not alone many car engine manufactires are doing this. It's probably easier to blow a perfect ideal smooth rounded cymetrical intake manifold than an as-cast aluminum one.
