Why do you hate people who don't agree with you?
I defend your rights all of the time. I don't hear you guys speaking up for me - I just hear judgment.

No one has the responsibility of defending their rights accept the person who feels their rights are being violated. You need to have an understanding of what the word "Christian" means. The meaning of this word means "Christ Like". You either have a genuine love of Christ and try to follow the example he gave us in the scriptures.. such as "Love thy neighbor as thy self". If this was, the case such questions wouldn't even be asked. After all, who among us doesn't think highly of themselves? Christians are hated because most of the time they are judgemental and hypocritical. Therefore the scriptual reference in Matthew to take the beam out of ones eye before you point out the splinter in your brothers eye. If you live your life by these examples then you need not fear hatred from anyone.

They think the grass is greener on the other side. There are a handful of countries in Europe that have very good socialist economies. They are also very nationalistic and support their manufacturing instead of buying the cheapest thing possible at Wal-Mart. The EU imposes tarriff and threatens China when they dump goods or Imports get too high. If we supported our own economy then we would have the ability for our government to do more. We just let China run over our economy and Americans will complain about losing there job as they buy their next china made product and put their neighbor out of work.

I'm not a liberal, but I know plenty of them. I've yet to meet a liberal who hates Christians, in fact most of them are Christians themselves. They may be disturbed by the efforts of SOME Christians to insert the tenets of their religion into all of our lives, whether we follow their religion or not. But they are perfectly capable of separating the wheat from the chaff and recognizing the difference between real Christians and fanatical Christians when they are confronted with them. The evangelical extremists tried to add discrimination to our Constitution. That should have rung bells for a whole lot more than just the liberals in this country, and it did. That attempt failed not once, but twice, even with our erstwhile President's pushing it. The conservatives voted against it right along with the moderates and the liberals. It was wrong, and that example of how the fanatical wing of Christianity has attempted to affect our laws is not easily forgotten.
I know a lot of Christians who are fed up with the fanatics making them all look bad. It is bad that there are those who cannot distinguish between Christians and extremist Xtians. They shouldn't be lumping all Christians in with that group either, and that is wrong as well.

Gettin' pretty general there sparky. I am a centerist leaning liberal and a Christian. I believe America is a land where everyone should be left alone to practice, or not, any religion they want as long as they don't force their practices and beliefs upon others. Jim Jones, of the People's Temple was supposed to be a Christian who allowed people to have their rights and who could leave the temple at any time right? How are your rights not being defended? Are you not allowed to worship your God as you see fit? Does anyone arrest you for going to church? What laws are there that prohibit you from believing what you do? The right to worship or not was one of the key issues during the founding of our country. The founding fathers realized that not everyone was of the same beliefs and so they left it up to us to decide for ourselves what we believe. Some of the early settlers came to North America to escape religious persecution in Europe. Puritans, Quakers, Jews, Catholics, Calvinists all were persecuted but in America none was allowed to dominate the others and it has worked out quite well. Today we have more people from many more religions. They too are welcome and encouraged to practice their religion as they see fit. Whether Wiccen, Druid, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, or anything else all are as welcome in America as Baptists, Presbyterians, yes and even Mormons (who weren't always welcome) or Jehovah Witnesses.
Please tell us what rights as a Christian have you had violated? Maybe by stating each of them we can better answer your question.

Jesus Christ, can't you bigots just get over yourselves?
If you think you have the moral high ground, think again.. you're screaming from the mud just like everyone else on this planet.
At least the liberals aren't trying to force one narrow view of "Christian" values down the collective throat of America. Nor are they fighting medical and scientific research at every turn. Or whittling away the hard-won rights of women to the point they are again sub-human chattle. Or attempting to rewrite history to accord with the bible.
You have the right to spew your hateful drivel, and I have the right to criticize it. THAT'S how free speech works. So take the bitter with the sweet, and live with it.

As one who is a reverent agnostic temperament and politicall y further right then you probably. I find both liberals and religious zealots a major pain in the ****.
Religionists (aka the Christian right), want to install some sort of theocracy on the rest of the planet, (hmmm, not unlike the radical islamists), Christians (with a capitals tend judgemental hypocrits.. Liberals want to do the same thing in the secular vein and force us the US taxpayer to foot the damned bill.
here is a tidbit for you zealots to chew on. I have a higher power I CHOOSE to call God, I don't see any coorelation between my perception of a higher power and your moral judgementalism. I will fight for your right to believe and worship as you choose but keep your own belief and conception of your higher power to yourself, I have one and don't need yours. I don't need one sold to me.
I could go into theosophical differences between you and I but I won't try to sell you mine either.
Evangelism and proselytizing is the most annoying behavior "C"hristians have.. I am an equal opportunity offender, I distain condescension whether from a "C"hristian muslim or secular ecowhack (whose religion is the worship of the environment, and the current gospel is global warming.)
Wake up and smell the coffee. Most 85% of people in the US have a belief in a power greater then themselves. They don't need to hear your views on divinity.

Your assertion that all liberals are not christian is flawed and a sad generalization on your part. There are many liberals who are compassionate christians.
I hear this statement alot from people who are conservative and yet they cannot cite examples of this so called "taking away of christian rights".
I don't see liberals protesting churches or christian schools. So it would be helpful if you would provide us "evil liberals" with examples of this "intense hatred", you go on about.

I harbor no hatred for Christians. I vigorously defend the rights of everyone to practice their religion. But that includes me, and I get damn mad at anyone who tries to interfere with my right to practice my religion. And unfortunately, today too many of the people who are trying to interfere with that right are Christians. Ironic, isn't it?

Look into your question for the answer grasshopper.
You wrote liberals in lowercase and christians in upper. Freudian slip? I think not. You perceive yourself as better.
You have no greater rights "as christians" than they do. So, in effect, each time they defend rights they are defending yours.
To a fool, time only brings age, not wisdom.

In a liberal/socialist/communist mind, government is the only true God. Morals are supposed to be self-determined in their world. Remember Christians spout evil ideas that are based on God's laws. You know evil ideas such as the Ten Commandments, and self determination. God has allowed us free will, something that liberals will never truly understand, so we must be put down. There is a big difference between self-determined morals and free will.
