A little help from ANIME fans would be nice...?

This anime movie used to be played on the sci-fi channel mabe 10 years ago. It's about a crew of people traveling on a spaceship. Things go wrong when a meteorite hits the ship and leaves a deadly disease that finds its way in the ship and slowly kills everybody except for a man and a women. they kill the disease by entering the atmoshere of a planet. the disease takes a physical form, kinda like a glob. there is a robotic cat in the movie. If you know the name of this movie, that would be great, I've been searching for the name for 10 years now.

I might know someone who has the answer to that.. but she's on vacation.. I'll call her either tonight or tomorrow.. I'm fairly sure she had it on one of her anime tapes.. (She used to tape them off of scifi.. I know she had Unico, and another one that sounds like what you described..)
