Do you mean a Wireless Router? If so, then yes, you can use whichever one you wish. You plug the Router into your ISPs modem and then configure the Router and your computers Wireless Adapters to connect to each other. The entire network receives its Internet Connection via the Modem your ISP provided.

Some, but not all, ISPs, allow you to purchase certain Modem/Router combinations. Ask your ISP which ones they suggest to use for their service. I know that Cox for example gives a choice of their Modem/Router combination, or one your can purchase at most stores. However, other ISPs have certain Modems you have to use and then you can purchase any Router and hook it up to the Modem.

While any wireless modem will work with most ISPs, it is best to ask your ISP which modem they prefer. Each modem is configured slightly differently. They will usually have one or two that their techs are trained to support. If you have one tha they are trained on, it increases the odds that they will be able to troubleshoot and repair issues with it. SO check with your ISP.

Wireless routers/modems are completely ISP independent. As long as you have the username and password for your account, any modem/router will work.

Make sure that you find out the IP address of the device you intend to use and access it via your Internet browser and setup from there should be simple.

They should all conform to the same standards, so should work fine. Ask your ISP technical support what they recommend.
