One week ago the Washington Post ran the cartoon "Opus", in which it poked fun at the late Rev. Jerry Fallwell. This week it decided not to run "Opus" because it poked fun at radical islamists. Can someone explain the double standard? If it ridicules Christianity it's OK. If it riducules Islam, it's not OK? I can't wait to watch the tapdancing about this one.

its the same reason you can call white people cracker, but under no circumstances may you use the N word anywhere. I will grant you that it is both a double standard and unfair, but lets face it, both Christians and whites are in the majority, and it is more acceptable to attack the majority than it is a minority. additionally, law abiding Muslims in this country have a genuine fear of being made out to be targets for crimes because of what many radical Muslims are doing in other parts of the world...do you really think Christians face any kind of backlash because of some negative press?

What is *really* ridiculous is that Berke has poked fun at radical Islamicists before in years past.

I'll bet you can find that strip online. If so, post a link so we may all read it.
