your computer sound card should have line inputs. go to the windows 'mixer' to make sure they are on with volume potted up. feed the line in with a connection to your tape player line out. you might need to visit radio shack to get adapter cables.

the windows "recorder" will make an audio file of the sound card input. use nero to convert and burn audio CD from sound files.

Audacity, Its the only freeware program i know to record, and also edit stereo audio (Mp3's)
