2 years on and those lazy worthless people are still unemployed, sitting around waiting for our tax money to bail out their lazy butts. Instead of subsidizing stupidity and laziness, how about we take back the trailers, cut off the checks, and let them take responsibility for themselves? In Minnesota, Wisconsin, Texas, Kansas, and Ohio, people are ALREADY rebuilding just days after massive floods ruined 10s of the thousands of homes and businesses. If the people in NO are forced to work to starve, no matter how far they need to go for work, they will either turn into productive citizens, or their laziness genes will no longer be in the gene pool. Sounds to me like a win win situation huh?

Hey acct10132002,

Not sure why you choose to live in ignorance, or why you must make an *** of yourself here, but jefferson WAS arrested. And it was 90k. And the only reason he was not indicted was his good REPUBLICAN friend hastert who help get the evidence thrown out. It turned out hastert has somethings in HIS house he does not want the FBI to get, so he supported a court challage that found the FBI CANNOT search congressmens offices even with warrants. please pay attention kid. you might not look like such a jack@ss!

I come from a small town in centrl FL, right on an island, right on the coast. In 200 it was pretty much leveled between Charlie, Francis, Ivan, and Jean (Direct hit from Cat 4 Charlie, affected by all). We did get some help between the Natinal Guard and FEMA. By that I mean bags of ice and bottled water. Many people didn't really need it cause when they saw a CAT 4 headed straight towards them they planned ahead leaving the aid that came for those who suddenly found themselves homeless and really needed it.

People began rebuiding as soon as the hurricane season ended (Actually right after Charlie, but then when Francic came and Ivan was looming people pretty much decided to just hang out and see what happens and not wste effort). Of course many people did not have the means to rebuild, or jobs to return to. So if they didn't, you know what they did? They moved to where there was work.

I hear all these wild claims by people that they don't have the money to move. Well I knew some a couple people that just got together what was left of their belongings, threw it in a bag, scaped up 100 dollars and got on a bus for fairer ground. I hear some people say it's not fair to ask these people to leave thier homes. Guess what? Your home was leveled, rebuild or find a new home. I myself left home shortly after the storms looking for a more stable econemy / job.

It sucks. No one is begrudging them that. But that's life. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes you get blindsided by a hurricane. You're not the only one that's ever happened to, and you won't be the last. Time to stop using it as an excuse. Time to move on.

Is the world only black or white to you people? Are you that ignorant to believe that anyone still affected by Katrina must be lazy and worthless? You don't think they're sick people? How about single mothers trying to relocate from N.O. to a trailer in Kansas? Keep in mind, most trailers never made it to the survivors. You have to stop generalizing and consider the individuals involved. Just because they're not super wealthy or white doesn't mean they're bad, worthless or lazy.

It's people like you that make this a horrible world to live in. Thankfully, your ignorance and lack of education is only helping our cause. Only a complete moron would side with your logic...... i.e. Sway agrees with you.

Yes, it is time. I used to live in Westwego, LA, about 5 miles from New Orleans, but never saw such laziness as I notice now. Katrina is OVER, no one is flooded out anymore. There is still work to be done in re-building, so the people who live there should get to it, and stop whining! The government can't take care of you forever.

2 years later and they are still sitting around. Dang I would have relocated and had a new job within days if not weeks. If they don't want to get off their butts and clean up the area so that they can build new houses and businesses then they should starve. I can't stand people who expect to have everything handed to them.

Sway is Lafayette bound...as for Katrina...the Democrats gat all the votes and credit and spend the funding as they please. That state even had a Congressman arrested with $50,000 in bribe money in his FREEZER and the Congress will not kick him out or arrest him! Then his voters voted the crook back into office!
For an idea about LA, the state get the Huey Long Movie. He was not called the Kingfisher for nothing. Many of his machinicks and relatives still run that state.

I'd say it would be hard for some to recover after a flood not everyone knows where to begin their new life or any relatives to give them support plus when their is a tragedy there is not always jobs for everyone in a flooded area.

I agree, but some of them are going through the judicial system and sueing their insurance companies because claims were not paid. But for those that are not waiting, yes, take them away.

I have a better idea. Why don't you get off your fat conserative butt and go to New Orleans and see for yourself how massively different the New Orleans disaster was from a few dinky trailers swept away in the Midwest....and also go see the human misery and suffering.

Then as a last exercise, view the videotape of George Bush addressing the people of New Orleans in which he gives out an 877 number for information on how people can re-unite with their families. He repeats this number often.

Then DIAL the 877 number yourself and hear that it's been disconnected.
