Rainbows and Puppies:
Maybe you forgot to watch FOX news or other news those days. And I guess you don't read the newspaper either. That's what the links are for.

Charmed:
I wasn't the one who brought the subject up. I am responding to the previous slew questions that seem to relish in bashing the victims of Katrina--particularly the black victims as being criminals and welfare cases.

I know - I watched the HBO special on this. It was heart-breaking.

I also live in Texas, so we had many of the displaced moved here.

I don't understand the cold-heartedness of these people when it comes to this. I don't blame Bush, but he didn't do a damn thing until he wanted to, and we ALL remember what his lovely mother said about the people in the Superdome!

I gave clothes and money when I could, because I'd want someone to help me if I needed it!

They tried to go to get help and they were BLOCKED! So of course they will break in and get food!!!
As for the other stuff - TVs and all - that is trivial BS that is EASILY replaced. I don't think they should have taken that stuff, but they did.

Who cares about that? They weren't helped until it got horrible, and even then they weren't helped like they should have been.

It makes me angry that people have no sympathy for their supposed FELLOW AMERICANS simply because they are poor. I don't want to play the race card, although I feel that had a lot to do with it as well.

Let's show our fellow Americans some HUMANITY, shall we?

I don't hate anyone, but what I feel toward Geraldo is as close to hate as I'll get. He faked a broken arm to get into the hospital here in Blacksburg after the shootings at Virginia Tech. I refuse to watch anymore of the video than the first 2 seconds because that was how long it toook to see him.

Most of the people left behind actually refused to leave. I remember them trying to retrieve a man from his roof, and he said that he was not leaving his house for any reason. Do we not remember the people SHOOTING at the rescuers? Can't complain when you refuse to get help, or try to kill the help.

I think your nickname should be dumBdumB. No one was forced to do anything. And if you live below sea level and are too stupid, or poor to do the following, tough ****
#1 LEAVE when a hurricane comes.
#2 Have FLOOD insurance
#3 Have home owners insurance.

the stupid people that did none of these things deserved what they got, and can starve to death as far as i am concerned. This was a GREAT example of natural selection weeding out the idiots.

Hey Dumbdumb. youtube and post gazette are not exactly great reliable news outlets. you really look like a moron posting this. would you rather the government came in and dragged all the worthless *****'s out by their hair?

What part of mandatory evacuation don't you understand? You are telling me that all those thousands of people who figured they didn't need to leave aren't to blame? No they just felt the need to stay in a bowl shaped city that is below water level surrounded by poorly designed levies because flooding could never happen there. Don't tell me they cant afford a car. There are people in Michigan that live in boarded up crack houses yet still can afford a Caddy.

But this was 2 years ago. It's time to move on. The wise man built his house upon a rock. People need to learn from this and move into the future. K?

Yes the government wanted to show the world how blacks behave when the law breaks down. Don't ask me why. Just looked that way to me. Couldn't come up with another explanation to the governments response to the disaster.

The ones that shot at the helicopters. Remember the looting and gangs that popped up? Remember the authorities not being able to move in because they were being shot at? Some people don't want to be saved.

Geraldo lost all of his credibility years ago...BTW I went to the dome to deliver donations...you should have seen all of the food from restaurants ...Jason's Deli, Pizza Hut etc...I watched volunteers hand out cold soda's and sandwiches to people as they arrived...what a bunch of the people did was complain that the soda wasn't cold enough and they didn't like that particular sandwich...you are full of it if you believe the media sensationalism over it...I was there...were you?
