nothing wrong with that at all...............it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks, if that song means something to you, then it's ok

No.....you're not odd. ^_^ The world has become odd around you. And I'm not saying this to be a smartass, or to mock you or anything, the world, society and culture *around you* has most definitely become less tolerant and more uptight these days.

I know this because it's happened locally at *my* end too. Without going into too many details...from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s, Champaign, Illinois was a spiffy place to be. Beautiful even. You could *walk* to a grocery store and to a movie theater. We had actual *flowers* growing on campus and not these weird spongy looking shrubs we do now....and people were *nice* to one another (frat boys aside).

And now? Every time a place goes out of business, like a store or restaurant....it gets replaced (if at all) by some huge butt-ugly property-line to property-line apartment building. I mentioned the shrubs. And the people....so many of them are still nice, but quite a few these days are flat-out *mean and hostile* to "the mopes", meaning anyone who "looks like" they might be poor and have a mental illness. It's sad is what it is.

It's not you, and it's not me. We haven't changed. ^_^ If anything we've done the work and tried to be less "from the moon" in your case, or less "of a Martian" or "of a Braniac" in mine. But nothing we do is good enough....

People are just getting meaner and more bigoted, because society *lets them*....people are too scared of being labeled a "liberal" or "politically correct" to actually stand up and say "No, you're the one being mean and rude here, learn some damn *manners* will you?"

Seriously. Evil only wins when so-called good people do nothing. And this is what's happening. Our culture, by way of its media, has the "good people" convinced that they can't, or shouldn't, stand up for themselves--never mind for others--to the bad people, to the bigots, meanies and haters.

And so we who are different and lonely, us people from "the moon" and from "mars"....we suffer needlessly for it. And when *we* stand up for ourselves, the beatdowns and taserings get shown on YouTube to "entertain" the leering, jabbering hordes of fascist sheeple....

It's appalling is what it is.

But I hear you. You're not odd....I'm not either. I'm done with blaming myself for *other people's* bad attitudes. Are you?

Thanks for your time. ^_^
