It was a yellowish snotty thing that was on the toilet paper when I wiped. It wasn't large, just about the size of my fingertip (so I think it may have just been a piece of it). I am 37 weeks and I am 1cm dilated. Do you think delivery is soon???

sounds to me like you lost your plug, thats what mine looked like, but it was bigger so your right it was probably just a piece. unfortunately just because your dilated and you lost your plug doesnt mean labor is near. i had a friend who was 2cm 80% effaced for about 6wks and she went passed her due date they finally had to induce her. but then again when some people start dilating labor comes rather quickly. i guess it just depends on if your baby is ready to come out into the world. good luck to you.

I know you dont wanna hear this because you are ready to have your baby but my mucous plug started coming out piece by piece for almost 3 weeks before i finally had my daughter. Just make sure to wear a liner because some of the pieces can get pretty big (almost golf ball size).

In all three of my pregnancies I only lost my mucous plug pre-labor in one. And I didn't go into labor for about 2 more weeks. My 3rd baby, I was having major contractions but I didn't have a bloody show so I refused to go to the hospital. My husband kind of forced me to go and I got to the hospital I was dialated to a 7 but still no bloody show! That one was bizarre. Anyway, the point is, it's different everytime and it really doesn't indicate anything. If you start to see blood, give your doctor a call.

You will gradually start losing more and more. When you see a long string of mucus with blood hanging in it, then you're almost there. You will see it after you go to the bathroom, right before you plan to wipe. The more you lose, the better. This plug is the thing that's holding your water inside of you.

It's possible, but remember that your mucus plug can fall out and regenerate. You may still have a few more weeks to go, or you could go into labor tomorrow. Dilation can hang at one point for weeks, or move in a matter of hours or minutes.

I had a show two days before i went into labour, it wasnt yellowish though, it was like a clear jelly. A friend of mine had a show and didnt go into labour til two weeks later. I think everyone is different, you'll just have to wait and see.

Call your OB and ask the nurse. Sometimes you can lose a little piece. Happy delivery. Congratulations.

Usually, but not always, the mucous plug has a bloody tint, also called your bloody show.

Sounds to me like you are getting closer, it could be part of your mucous plug.

Best of luck to you.
