I back off. Being persistent in that type of situation doesn't make sense to me. It's not going to change how the person feels. It's best to just move on.

I can take a hint! I'd back off... Being persistent just makes you look desperate! Although I do remember a saying that goes... Persistence pays off!

Well, that used to make me more persistent. Then I realized that I don't want to force myself where I am not wanted. Now, I am married, but if I wasn't, I would run from men like that. My first husband had a commitment phobia. I chased him for years before he "settled" for me. He then proceeded to be the biggest flirt and turned out to be a drug addict. I did some bad things to him, and he did some bad things to me, and now we don't speak. It's a painful silence, to say the least.

Depends on what the subject is. You can usually get a "feel" for how strongly the person feels about the issue. If I feel more strongly about it than the other person does, then I'll test the water to see if it persuades them at all. If I get the feeling that the person's very head strong about the issue, I'll just leave it be.

If the felling is not mutual, there is no point in pursuing a person . I would back off .

Oh no!! I back the hell off first! I do not like to be the one to look desperate (even if i am) or like i'm really on someone. I'm the play it cool chic. I will let it go first before I be made a fool of.

I tried to make certain first and then I back off totally if the other person isn't interested.
