"THey don't control the Senate. They have 50 votes + Joe Lieberman.
Nowhere near the 60 votes needed to overturn a fillibuster."
So that must mean the the GOP didn't lose control of the Senate since they never had control by your definition.

Apparently it's doing no job. Unless, you consider raising the minimum wage a milestone of statesmanship.
They say it will end poverty. If that were true it would have ended poverty the first time it was raised.
Other than that I can't see one single campaign promise that was fulfilled.
This congress, and it should be noted that it's not ALL democrats, has been out-maneuvered by the president at most every turn. That must be particularly embarrassing for democrats who had no problem referring to Bush as the dumbest man ever to hold the office.
The congress, last time I looked, has a 17% approval rating which is an all time low. What's even more interesting is that 82% of the negative responders were democrats themselves.
So if the Democrats are to be believed, I guess the answer to your question is an unqualified, NO!

Republicans had it for 12 years and did not something, contain passing an anti terrorism invoice that Clinton needed in 1996, 10 years in the past 9/11! I shouldn't say not something, they authorized cuts to the VA hospitals whilst giving Tax-Cuts to the wealthy! in addition they gave bush a sparkling examine for over 5 years working up a 4 TRILLION dollar extra debt, Double that of this countries finished debt from George Washington via Clinton! They made 500 new millionaires off of blood money from Iraq! as a techniques because of the fact the Democrats, not purely like the Republicans, we don't have adequate to override Bush's vetoes, yet all of that is going to end. in the 1st a hundred days the Democrats did extra suitable than the Republicans did in 12 years, contain passing a improve in the minimum salary!! Bush is being abandoned and he's a lame duck! we don't want yet another 8 years of somebody who lies as much as he does, and murders our troops in a conflict that could desire to on no account of have been began, and if Bush instructed the actuality to the Congress, Iraq does not have occurred!

Yes they are doing great job of protecting the status quo while acting as if they hate it. Saying one thing and doing the exact opposite is much harder than it looks. Give credit where it is due.

If they would follow Kucinich's lead and impeach the defense and oil industry whore who is presently occupying the Vice President's office - I would consider them to be on the right track.
As of now, they are a disappointment.

Nope, they pissed off both sides.
Liberals by backing down on their promises to end the war, conservatives by trying to sell out Americans by giving millions of illegals amnesty.
