Yeah there was a gap but he got hit enough times to be permanently damaged.

I thought the movie went downhill right at the torture recovery scene.

My wife and I thought it was some dream sequence because it became so sentimental so fast.

First of all : HE'S JAMES FRIKKIN BOND DO YOU THINK THERE WAS A SLIGHT CHANCE THAT HE IS AT ANYTIME UNABLE TO FIGHT!!!! second of all observe better there was a gap and the least you could do was read the book and save time

Okay, in the book after he is tortured and goes into rehab and cured, they are sitting on the beach. Vesper hugs him and then he feels something. Then after a chapter she feels remorse and commits suicide and the book ends with the line, 'The bit*h is dead.'
