I mean i know if they have 2 way tie they do a one game play off but what would happen if they had 3 teams tied.

MLB has a 3-way tiebreaker method which has never yet been used. First, the teams are designated A, B, and C. The way these are assigned is not especially complicated but is rather long and dry reading. Click the link below if you're interested that much.

With teams assigned as A, B, and C, we play some games.

Game 1: B at A.

If A wins, Game 2: C at A.
If B wins, Game 2: C at B.

To earn the division championship, A has to win two home games, B has to win one road and one home game, or C has to win one road game.

Far from a perfect solution, but there it is; with the season over and the playoffs ready to begin, expediency is needed. Let's hope it never comes to pass.
