one thing i do agree on is giving back some money that way they could have more money and sign some players to fill vick's roll!
And by the way, he doesnt want to damage his reputation like oj simpson...

Thank you! I'm a VT alum and a Vick fan, and although I am disgusted by his actions, he seemed to really regret what he had done. I'm so tired of people saying he should get life in prison when the max penalty is 5 years, for anyone! If it had been anyone but a celebrity and they had made a guilty plea, they would be looking at about the same time as Vick, 1 year to 18 months. The average joe wouldn't possibly have to pay back 22 million to the NFL or be in a Federal court.
I'm at a loss for the name, but a player for another NFL team was CONVICTED of double homicide, and he's still playing today. Why is Vick different? I do think Vick should be punished, but he should be allowed to play again.

Actually Giambi admitted using roids and commisioner Bud Selig decided not to punish him at all... now that's BS. It's not like he was gambling on NFL games or anything. And I am against animal cruelty and would never injure a dog, but we slaughter animals by the ton for food and hunt lots of game for sport so I don't know who made the rules that just because an animal has personality that it has more rights than the next animal. I think it was wrong on so many levels but who are we to judge another human being, isn't judgement up to God alone? I think the courts gave him a relatively light sentence so I just hope that he learns from this mistake and can get back to playing ball again at some position for some pro team and doesn't have his talents wasted.

Dog fighting is not a sport it is a crime. I don't care, and neither does the court system, what may or may not be legal in other countries. Stoning a women to death because she was raped is legal in Afghanistan, would you like that to be OK here as well? Personally I think his apology was a load of BS. The only thing he is sorry about is that he got caught. Once he serves his time and suspension, I don't have a problem with him trying to get back into football, unless the gambling charges pan out and then he should, as league rules state, be banned for life. Hopefully he will learn from his mistakes and will come out of prison as a better person.

Awww Michael Vick is so sad now and regrets doing all the dog fights. Yeah right the only thing this fool is sad about is that he is going to have to go to jail and that he is going to lose 160+ million dollars which he could be using to fund bigger and better dog fights. Once this fool gets out of jail it is just a matter of time before he gets his operation back up but he will be a lot more careful this time. I hope he has fun with his daily butt pounding with his new boyfriend in jail.

Bull-fighting is vile and a disgrace to the nations that allow its existence. However, unlike dog-fighting, the bull isn't fighting because he will do anything for a sign of affection from the matador.
Vick's crime proclaims his depravity. He took animals who would do anything to win approval from him and turned them into vicious killers.
Those athletes who use steroids harm themselves, not another entirely innocent being.
I hope the judge gives him the max. He has a rep as a tough sentencer and isn't limited by the 12 to 18 month guidelines.
As for the NFL, maybe it would be better if they did let Vick play, and fans began to realize that their sport will do anything, including rewarding degenerates with stupendous salaries, for the sake of winning a game.

Uh, no.
This wasn't a mistake. It was calculated action over years of time.
We don't allow bull fighting in this country just like we don't allow dog fighting.
If you think this is not a big deal because it is only dogs, just think it over the next time you hear about some little kid getting his face bitten off by a pitbull which was raised to be a fighting dog by some imbecile. We hear about these attacks all the time and people say "don't condemn the breed, it's the fault of people who raise these dogs to be agressive and to fight".
That is what we are talking about, people!

Simply put they do not allow Bull Fighting in the USA. Apologies are simply insulting to whomever receives them. In this country we tend to think that if you give an apology then everything is all ok. I think not my friend.
Vick had a 130 mill contract and he blew it. Well good for him.
You know I really hate stupid people and Vick is at the top of the list.

Well, he financed the gambling operation, which is grounds for a lifetime ban according to NFL policy. So he should not be allowed to play in the NFL ever again.
I agree with you though that some transgressions are glossed over and not even punished. Other sports need to do a better job of punishing those who violate policy.

Giambi only cheated himself but Vick killed dogs, there's a big difference. I don't really think he is sorry, I personally think he is sorry he caught. Watch his interviews while being accused & see how arrogant he was. I believe the majority of the fans will not ever forgive him for the cruel things he did to those dogs. Steroids is a totally different issue, cheating, but steroids didn't make them kill dogs, it will just make their balls smaller.
