I put a small tank in my baby's room to use as a nightlight and for entertainment. I think the light might be in the room for this, but we'll see. Anyway, will the constant light (daylight and then tank light) bother the fish? Do they need some dark for rest or anything? Also, I keep a CD Player on at night to play lullaby music for the baby. It is fairly quiet, but the only space for it is right by the tank. Will the noise bother the fish? There's just a couple of tiny fish in there, but I do care about their feelings and general well being!

You can keep the light on all night, just turn it off during the day or you'll end up with nightmare algae problems. Fish don't sleep the way we do, but people tend to instinctively anthromorphize their pets and assume they need what we do. Light music like that won't make any difference to the fish at all.

Except for the live plants which will need a certain amount of daily light (and it depends on the kind of plant, some need more light then others), aquarium tank lights are for humans to see their fish when it's dark. The fish don't need the light. It's not a good idea to leave the lights on 24 hours a day because you're wasting energy and the algae that is naturally in water will flourish and cause you a whole lot of extra work trying to get rid of it. Research what type of plants you have and what their light requirements are and turn the lights off after their limit is met.

Basically, yes, 24 hour light is not good for the fish and they need a day/night cycle like any other animals. You might consider a different nightlight and allow the fish about 12 hours of relative darkness a day.

Soft music near the tank won't bother them at all, just don't put them on a speaker during a loud party lol

the music wont bother the fish, or scare them. it is a proven fact that fish are affected by music in a good way, as long as it isnt screeching loud. studies have shown that fry that are near music have a faster growth rate then fry who are not near music. the light might affect them, if the room is dark during the day then it is fine, but if there is light in the room 24/7 then it will bother the fish. i would suggest closing the blinds, curtians, and turning the light off when nobody is in that room.

Don't keep the light on all night. The fish will start wondering when to sleep. And DON'T put anything like a CD player next to a fish tank. If their's a flash, you might end up with a fried CD player - or fried fish. Besides, fish don't care if it's music - it still freaks them out!
