He is getting off easy.
He should be very grateful that _I_ am not the judge in his case.

Mr. Vick is not getting railroaded at all. Please keep in mind that with any high profile job or position you must toe the line on a daily basis. He decided that he didn't have to do that and now we have what we have. Let's just say he gambled and lost. By the way Mr. Vick not only was gambleing but organized the whole deal which I believe can be considered racketeering. The fact that he did horrible things to dogs really is a secondary issue. Oh, by the way remember Pete Rose and his little betting thing. Also how would anyone's employer treat you if you were found to do the things that he admitted to, would you have a job to go to? I think Not!!

Ahhh - poor Michael Vick... NOT! This guy is making millions, but that is not enough for him - he wants to add killing animals to his schedule as well?!?! In the dictionary a picture of him should be next to the word dumb-***!!
I agree that he should not do jail time... just do to him what he did the the dogs and we can call it even. No, better yet, put HIM in a pin with the remaining 38 dogs from the property and let the best one win. I would bet on any of the K-9's there. Please note, I did not say dog, because that would include Vick. I hope Vick gets some soap on a rope - he is going to need it!!!

He isn't being railroaded at all. But getting free of having to admit of betting on the dog fights other than sponsoring them or whatever legal term that it was. Does he deserve forgiveness? Come Clean with Everything! For heavens sake we all know that he did place bets and share in winnings or why would he be just putting money into it??? Can we say Bank-Rolling!!!
The NFL needs to set an example out of him and Bann him from ever playing in the NFL ever again.

Eat your pig, eat your chicken, eat your fish, eat your cow, eat your cat, eat your dog...yum, yum, yum.
I for one love barbecued dog. If you have never eaten barbecued Labradors, you are missing out. I had to go to Taiwan for that.
I think that Michael Vic's dogs should be roasted or barbecued and they should hold a big party. By the way, what is wrong with what Michael Vick did? It seems extremely hypocritical to charge him but let everyone in our food industry go free.
His dogs were treated no worse than the gazillion animals in America that are grown for food. What's the difference? And don't tell me that the difference is that his actions were illegal while the actions of the food industry are legal. We all know that. The question is an ethical one, not a legal one.

yeah he's getting screwed. The man had a little involvement in dog fighting and there talking prison and possibly never playing again in the NFL. Come on i can see a fine or a couple game suspension. What about guys like Lenard little who was charged with manslaughter after killing that guy while he was arrested for drunk driving, and hes still playing the game. Theres numerous more cases out there that i don't have time to get into but i think the NFL and everyone else have to take a good look at what really happened or start treating everyone the same. Get of Vick's back already other people have done worse and got a slap on the wrist.

That's a pretty stupid question. Do you feel he should be above the law or something? And yes, he did lose his job...just like anybody else would have that's about to go to jail for federal felonies. And without that job, there's not much reason for sponsors to stick by him, is there?
And no, they don't treat molestors better than him.

I think that he is only losing his job. He is not being charged with everything after all. I think the fact that he funded an operation that is illegal says enough. I do not believe that he should be tarred and feathered but I do think that he should be held accountable for his choices. I do believe that it was his blatant arrogance that offended so many when this scandal came to light that most people found most offensive. I am not a huge NFL fan, but I do think that his "employer" is reprimanding him so fiercely just for PR....that in itself is a joke in my opinion. There have been football stars who have committed murder......sold and used drugs....beat their wives who haven't been punished nearly as severe as Mr. Vick......but hey, as long as they can keep their fans right???
This is not to say that I think that dog fighting is no big deal....it is, but I think they are going a little far. Live some, learn some. When an average person acquires a profession in such a business...he/she should behave as though they would like to keep it. Money doesn't make you invincible is just keeps you from doing as much time as the average joe.

He committed a heinous crime and is being treated as such. I agree that we seem to care more about this case than others involving rape and murder of humans, however that does not change what he did and what the legal punishment should be. Losing his job and money are not legal punishments they are byproducts of his idiotic behavior and should have no bearing on his sentencing.

He lost his job? Bwaaaaaaa!! Which "job" do you mean? Football or dog fighting??
BFD!!
And as far as this scumbag being "railroaded", get serious!
This low-life should be bound, gagged and thrown into a pit with PETA supporters. And when they're finished with him, let a few pit bulls have the leftovers.

I would normally agree with you, and I do think that the media, and PETA, are asking for blood, and I do believe that DOG FIGHTING IS WRONG, AND ANIMAL GRUELTY IS WRONG, but there are more serious issues in America that need this kind of attention! But when Roger Goodell issued his new policy on Player Conduct in and out of the league and showed how serious he was with the PacMan example, Michael should have had enough brains to dismantle his dogfighting ring, for the sack of, as you pointed out, job, money, and reputation!! I think every NFL player should realize that Roger Goodell isn't playing and stop doing all the stupid stuff they do!
