Use the WiFi card that's built-in to your PC.

If Fedora 7 can't find it, try Kubuntu 7 instead.

Your computer has a PC Card slot (PCMCIA). Get an adapter that will fit in the slot (it is a standard size, so this is not much of an issue). Since 802.11G is the defacto standard (today), I would get an 802.11G PCMCIA card. Since you are running Linux, look for one that is Linux compatible. All the major players have drivers for Linux. Stick with D-Link, Linksys, or NetGear and you should be fine. I don't think I would do Belkin as they don't seem to pump as much resources into drivers and software.

I would not use an USB adapter. The problem is that they have a cycling issue. The nature of USB and the limited wattage make them a bit susceptible to intermittent connections. Also, USB is just something else outside the computer.
