Girl....let me give it to you straight....I'm a happily married woman who's truly, madly, deeply in love with my husband (and he knows this).....but, sometimes a girl's gotta have her space (same goes for a guy). I've been known to go upstairs a time or two and sleep in the extra room so we can both get a restful night's sleep. There are nights that I don't want to hear snoring, or have someone steal my covers, or breathe my air (lol), or snuggle when it's like 100 degrees.....Guess it just depends on the couple and the situation......

I guess it depends on the reason that you are sleeping separately. I wouldn't like it if my husband didn't sleep in the bed with me but there may be others that wouldn't mind it at all. I guess it just depends on the person and the situation.

I wish we could. I much prefer the couch. He doesn't want me touching him anyway. He even tucks the blanket in under his side so I can't have my leg next to his. No cuddling. And yet, when I choose the sofa over the love and affection I get in the bedroom, I am the one who's messed up.
I personally would love to sleep with my husband, but when he treats me like I have the plague, I'd rather ignore the behavior and sleep somewhere else.

I agree that every once in a while, maybe to get a nice nights rest...but I do not believe that this is something that should be happeneing every night. This is separation which could lead to marital separation and then divorce

My mom and dad slept in separate rooms for many yrs. Not beacuse they didnt love one another (they were married til the day she died and he still loves and misses her almost 4 yrs later). She just could not sleep WITH him. He is a vietam vet who would have flash backs in his sleep, talk, snore and fart so bad it would stink up the entire floor. When he'd be having his flash backs she made the mistake once of trying to wake him he sat straight up in bed and grabbed her by the throat in his sleep!! He woke up and apologized for it to no end. They were married 36 years. Even now when he's sleeping and he's soon to be 67 you do NOT touch him or he'll do the samething we all know it, and the grandkids know it if you have to wake grandpa you stand far enough away from him the he can not touch you and call his name.
I am now married and there are times I sleep in one of our guests rooms. Usually its when he's snoring really loud or taking up the whole bed and kicking (men can be so inconsiderate in their sleep..lol) or if our baby wakes up and needs to be held its just easier to sleep in the guest room then worry if my husband will roll over on him (my husband rolls over on me!) SO no if there are good reasons then do it if your doing it just so you dont have to sleep with them or be near them reconsider your relationship

No, I don't have a problem with that. My husband and I DO sleep together but it doesn't work for everyone and that's perfectly fine. If your marriage is happy and both of you are OK with this decision, then keep doing it.

Gypsy is right. My husband and I did this the last 3 years of our marriage, and it contributed significantly to things going down the tubes.
