I think you are talking about a bobbin thread. A machine brand would be helpful, but basically they all come off of a little spool(bobbin) under your stitchplate. Make sure the bobbin is in rightside up. The thread should pull off to the left and feed through a series of tension guides. If it has a separate bobbin case, make sure you have pulled the thread through the slits correctly. With the bobbin in place, you should be able to use the hand wheel to bring the bobbin thread up to the top and through the hole in the stitchplate. The stitchplate (the flat part under the needle where the thread comes through) should be secured in place before you try to bring the thread up. If it is loose, look at where the tabs are located on the plate. Most of them secure by pushing down and then sliding the tabs into the proper hole. Usually you will here a click when it is in place.
Hope this helps.

The bobbin (holds thread under the presser foot) can go in horizontally or vertically. There are also different bobbins 66 and 15 in metal or plastic - as well as some others specific to different brands............since we don't know which machine you have............

Have you tried going to the company website to see if there is any on-line sewing manual that you could check out for a quick "refresher course" in your machine?

Or your local library might have a generic sewing book with a page showing the three or four most common ways bobbins load into sewing machines..............Readers' Digest, Singer, Vogue Patterns, and several other companies have sewing books out - check the 646.xx section (Dewey Decimal System).

#3 is correct. Does your machine have a booklet? If so, please read it all the way through. Threading is very important. If it's an old machine, take it for a tune up and ask the technician to show you how the machine works. You're new at this, you don't need a malfunctioning, dirty machine on top of not knowing how to use it.

What make of sewing machine is it? I think you mean the bobbin thread, and it's in different places in different machines, so a brand would be helpful.
