i guess you mean limited arranged dating with someone in order to get engaged afterwords.. right?

i think in some societies it work. specially middle east societies and other conservative societies where the chances to meet your solemate in life activities is rare.. so yes i believe that "formal" marriage is good in this case..

the main important thing is to take your time in the arranged datings.. and dont look for light talks.. try to engage in high-level talks about life matters and see to what degree you both share values about the world..

i hope this was you were asking about

regards

I don't like the idea of formal marriage in some ways, you have to really think about it tho, cause do you really need the state that you live in to give you a piece of paper saying you really love that person? It gives you more security in some ways because in order to leave you have to go thru a divorce but if the person really wants out they will do whatever to get out.So just "shacking up" gives more freedom for indecisiveness which hopefully isn't there anyway.

I have a formal marriage. Meaning that we got married and we have a license and tax returns to prove it.

I guess not because I have no idea what the hell you are talking about.
But I'll take a stab at it. NO, If I can't fart in front of my man, then he won't be my man for long :))
