I loaded Avg free into XP & it appears to slow my net download (only have 26.6 kbps dial-up). How to cure?

Could it be the Mozilla sector that is doing the damage?

slow internet such as dial up means that your downloads will all be slow. if you could give the exact rate, we'll be able to tell if it's normal or slow. AVG updates are usually automatic and will slow everything that's running. If you have mozilla running, it will slow that program also.

One PC; one Anti-virus...

Remove any other Anti-virus programs (like Norton) and your PC should be fine.
