Well, the best way to explain the idea of creativity is to think outside the box! In other words, someone who is creative looks at something from all angles(not always in sight)and starts thinking to themselves,"gee, I could do this instead" or "I wonder if I did this, what would happen?" A creative person simply takes something complicated and rehashes it into something simple by reforming it in some way that no one else has yet done. It is often something so obvious that once the 'creative' person does it, everyone else says"why didn't I think of that". My suggestion for books would be to look at the subject at hand in both adult & children versions. The reason why....children look at things in a most curious way. An adult has learned what is 'acceptable' to other adults, but most children learn by experimenting. Truly creative people already experiment and see what works & what doesn't. They are chemists with ideas...mixing & matching until whatever they want done is accomplished. Hope this helps! Guard Dog

I hear so many people say that they envy my talent.... and that i was "born" being able to do these things. I completely disagree with that assessment. I believe creativity is not some magical power bestowed upon a person at birth - it is , in my opinion, having the interest, and the willpower to learn to do a certain thing - such as sculpture, drawing..etc And the most important of all, to be in touch with your emotions and those around you. You must feel emotion strongly and put that into your work, that is what art is all about. Making people feel your work. That is creativity.

You know what creative talent is? It's making 5,000 objects and showing the best 10 of them. They'll call you a genius. Anyone can be creative. It just take time and desire.

I know quite a few artists actors and musicians and they mostly have one thing in common that drives them on. Issues.Sometimes their art is used as a form of therapy for what has or is troubling them or is making them happy. I believe that creativity comes from within and manifests itself in a tangible form
