Im in the military and I deploy to the Middle Easy quite a bit. As you well know, alot of our freedoms that we enjoy back in the United States are stripped from us when we DO deploy. So honestly the thing that am glad for is the freedom I have within the borders of the U - S - of - A!!!

I do several things others ought to be doing.
1. In the morning, I feed my finches and read for half an hour.
2. I don't just go places; I sit down for ten or fifteen minutes and take inventory of everything in the new place.
3. I always add one or more herbs, seasonings or ingredients to the second portion of whatever I cook, so it will be different.
4. I avoid any art that isn't about self-responsible adults, positive themes and worthwhile time spent on realistic
and beautiful creations.
5. And I measure every day by the number of dogs, cats and animals I get to see--last week I had a twenty-six dog day at the park.
6. I surround myself with inexpensive beautiful images.
7. I try to play the piano ten minutes a day, or sing.
8. And I never fail to watch the dawn, sunset and the night sky whenever I can.
9. I collect beautiful photographs and computer images.
10. And I use odors, textures, sounds, small objects and
tastes to make life happier.

The sounds of nature, being outside with all the animals. Looking up at the sky. A nice cup of hot tea. Slow simple breathing.. AHHHHH sounds excellent right about now!!

I like heading to the beach after dark, with my guitar and afew beers. I think it's a really simple pleasure that energizes me.

Rain, kids, long talks, riding a 4 wheeler, long emails from friends I have not met face to face but are very interesting, baby powder, music, singing even if you cannot, laughing
