1. Secure the borders
2. Maintain armed forces for the national defense
3. Enter into foreign treaties and trade agreements
4. Regulate foreign trade and interstate commerce
5. Protect the rights of every citizen

1) Protection via army from foreign invasion...(NOT doing that and 14 Tiajuana miles only of fence built yet!)
2) Prot from internal crime...
3) Social Security for when ageism keeps you at home and jobless or the illegals are doing everything.
4) Make me feel like I actually have a say in who is elected.
5) Help me recall all the patriotic songs, poems,etc that made me proud to be an American before the mass media started trashing everything that is good about America!

3. Stay out of personal lives.

Protect property rights
Enforce contracts
Protect people from violence
Pay for service which have a "free rider" problem - things like roads and parks, basic education and basic scientific research, where the benefits apply to society as a whole
Protect the environment and punish people for other crimes where large numbers of people are the victims, rather than individuals.

Leave us alone.
Treat us like grownups.
Dismiss goofball lawsuits instead of having to spend tax money fighting them.
Finance DHS to the point that it can finally do its job.
Stop importing poison from China. I don't care if toothpaste and dog chews will then cost three times as much.

Protect them from domestic enchroachment of their liberties.
Ensure equal economic opportunity.
Ensure equal protection and application of the law.
Provide the means to peacefully change government (elections, et. al.)
