No, hes not the only one. I dont have a bedtime, my mom figures that if i dont get enough sleep its my problem, not hers. But, i do have a curfew. I have to be home by 11:00 on school nights, but i dont usually stay out on weeknights. On weekends, i dont really have a curfew, as long as my parents know where im at and they think its a safe place where i wont get into any trouble, lol. Im 16, btw.

By my senior year in high school, I didn't have a bed time. I can see having a curfew but a bed time is a little extreme, I think. Once I turned 18, as long as I was home by 11 on school nights I was fine. I didn't have a curfew on the weekends because my parents always knew I'd be home around 1 or 2 at the latest.

I think it is completely reasonable to have a 11 curfew on school nights. There is no need for a 17 year old to be out all hours of the night. If there is something special going on like a concert or movie premiere he wants to go to then you could make an exception, but I think you are doing the right thing by setting a curfew. When I was in high school I did not have a bed time, as long as we were able to get up, and function at school.

He is definatly not the only one! lol I think you are doing a great job! Your curfew and bedtimes are very reasonable!! My son is only 10 right now, but he will not be out wondering after those times. Good for you! Keep up the great work.

He might swear that he's the only one with a curfew but I doubt that's true... He's just wanting a little more independence. He sounds like a good kid and it might be time to let him prove that to you. Ask him what he wants and then find a middle ground. Let him know that if the grades start slipping then its back to the old routine. Our school system has a computer link up so that we can see our kids daily activities. Just keep a close watch and maybe he's ready to be a little more independent. Good luck and good job! :)

I'm sure he's not the only kid with a curfew. Besides, what good happens for any teenager after midnight? You're doing what is best, mom and it sounds like he's benefiting from it, even if he doesn't see that yet. Keep it up!!!

I think thats fair. I'm a junior and i go to bed at 11. I dont have a curfew...but i dont go out on school nights because im preoccupied with gymnastics. I think its fair...but maybe trust him for a month or so and give him no curfew. See how his grades, attitude, and sports are doing. If they decline then put him back on a curfew. ♥

i already graduated and i still have curfew. it realllly sucks to be honest bc at this time a lot of my friends were going out to the beach and what not to celebrate summer and all that. i dont have a bedtime but i'll get in trouble if they catch me up at 3 in the morning.

i dont think its bad to have a curfew at that age im glad my parents did it. but i mean i already graduated and all so its kinda lame. hopefuly if anything, u can get a bit leniant in a year or in some time.
as for bed time.

my mom says, if u go to sleep at 4 and have to be up at 7, its no ones fault but yours if u cant get up on time.
makes sense.

I didnt have any curfew or bed time at his age. But then again, I had to call my parents until i was 18 and let them know where i was.

I had my own car and graduated at 16, and had a job... so, i was pretty much an adult by then.
