it seems like everybody in the world is going downhill with all thier problems and they post on yahoo answers to c if they can get help from somebody who they think can help them but really nobody is in the same problem as they are so they should really just solve the problem on their own. Why are people becoming so needy and dependant on others?

oh come on people you know im right..this is kinda ridiculous dont you think?? everybody on here pours out their deepest feelings to people who are not even in the situation, and alot of times people dont get the answers that they want to have............................so why not just gain some indepence and respect for oursleves, and answer them on our own?? thats what we all need to do. doing anything other than that seems kinda ridiculous..............

I'm not keen on needy questions either but don't think we have the right to judge. Strangely enough, there are probably more lonely people now than at most stages of our history, maybe forums like this are their only means of getting emotional sustenance and reassurance at the particular time they need it. We can deal with most problems ourselves but sure we've all really needed to seek advice at times, it's awful if forums like this are the only resource for anyone going through hard times.
Some needy questions do seem a real cry for help, i personally have to respond on seeing them, and avoid the ones that just seem to want attention, any attention.

Even if no one can provide the right answer to a persons personal problems there is some therapeutic value to putting the problem into a written form for the individual.
Try jumping down from your high horse and develop empathy.

I don't think people on yahoo answers are dependent on others they just want an opinion on whatever it is their problem is....By the way not everyone on yahoo answers comes to the psychology section sometimes they just need an answer to a technical/general question....

Overuse of cell phones allows people to make quick decisions based on most recent data which takes away from implimenting a plan then following through. But this site is for asking questions.

Everyone here wants opinions. We all want to know what other people think, just, you know, to see how we compare to others. Also, some people just have specific questions which we cannot find the answer to, so we ask. If you have a problem with it, perhaps you shouldn't read other poeples questions?

YQA is a microcosm of a larger phenomenon. Once the population's been trained from birth by canned laughter on television the sheeple syndrome kicks in.
Sheep follow sheep follow sheep.

since always, a person tries to make his life as better as they can and if he does have some problems which he can not solve why not ask others for help and gain some advice

I think people on this site are mostly bored.
In the crowd of the faceless, you can ask things you might not dare anywhere else.

You are in the psychology section. If you want something less symtomatic go to the fashion section.
