I am for civil unions. Why? because the constitution doesn't give one group of ppl a certain right and deny it to another. The Freedom of Religion Act will protect Conservative religions from being FORCED to perform any same sex marriages... How will allowing 2 ppl who love each other the validity of their relationship be detrimental to the institution of marriage????

I'm for something that would allow gay people the same rights as hetro's in terms of inheritance and other legal/financial issues. But I think the term "marriage" should be reserved for the traditional definition of one man and one woman.
As a general principle, I don't think you should EVER have to declare to the government who you are having sex with. In my view, ANY group of people who wanted to enter into a "domestic partnership" is fine with me. It doesn't mean that they are having sex. Just that they have a financial interest in each other's lives.

I think gay marriages are great. Why shouldn't gay people get married, they feel love too and would like to be a married couple.

I am for it. The government has no business legislating love between people. It is not right to deny these people the spousal benefits that heterosexuals enjoy in marriage.

for it. I think all couples should have to go through some sort of binding contract to make it a legal union and use a divorce attorney to get out of it. Why should I have to pay a lawyer to divorce my wife and loose thousands of dollars when same sex couples don't.

I support the rights of homosexuals to marry one another--they are mature, consenting adults just like any other. There is no reason to deny them the same social constructs available to heterosexual couples.

I don't think they should be denied rights just because of their sexual preference. They are human beings just like us so why shouldn't they be treated the same? I don't know whether it's right or wrong and I believe that it is not my place to say so anyway. Who are we to judge?

It doesn't bother me one way or another, everyone has to decide what is right for themselves. You can't help who you fall in love with.
