A man shoots some dogs and could get up to five years, yet a women shoots and kills her husband and gets a few months in jail and a couple of months in a mental institution.
We are, justifiably, making a big deal about a male sex offender in California, yet a female sex offender, with multiple counts against her, gets a slap on the wrist.

Greencoke, your answer was well thought out and I agree with it for the most part. However, I can't agree with bettered woman syndrome. A shotgun divorce is still murder. Also, by the same token, all of these schoolshooters could have plead "battered student syndrome" and gotten off with a slap on the wrist.

Olesya C, no facts twisted. They were both highly publisized American cases. Have selective memory much?

Our system is bias, by liberal judges who think they are gods that write the laws others must follow. Further, those liberal judges are easily swayed by liberal groups promoting the redistribution of wealth, unfairness of the white male, and the illegality of our country to exist.
Remove the liberal judges and the judicial system becomes a real judge of the laws passed by the Congress and signed by the President. Checks and balances will work a whole lot better without liberals.

There is no doubt that there are biases in the legal system. The people who run the legal system are, in fact, humans, so there will always be biases; even if the people dispensing justice aren't knowingly biased, there is still a little subconscious bias that seems to be part of human nature.
As long as different people receive different punishments for the same crime people will be angry at the justice system.
I am assuming the "man [who] shoots some dogs and could get up to five years [in prison]" that you are talking about is Michael Vick. Although Michael Vick pleaded guilty to dog fighting charges, he hasn't yet answered to the more serious charges of running an illegal gambling ring. That is the charge that will get him more jail time. The judge has not even accepted the plea deal yet, so it is possible that Vick may still be going to trial. If a non-famous person were to have committed this crime, they would have probably received the same punishment.
Was the "women [who] shoots and kills her husband and gets a few months in jail and a couple of months in a mental institution" that you are talking about by any chance beaten by her husband? Women that were beaten by their husband have successfully used something called the battered women syndrome defense. I don't know if that is in the details of the case you are referring to.
The point you make about the male and female sex offenders is, in my opinion, the biggest example of bias in the Criminal Justice system. A female that commits a sex crime should receive the same punishment as a male who commits the same sex crime.
Grumpyoldman-"[too] many rights for the criminal." Those "rights for the criminal" that you are referring to are actually rights that are in place to help in preventing the conviction of innocent peoples.

"Thinks" ? I KNOW it is biased.
However, I have never seen a woman getting few months in jail for murder. Same goes for female sex offenders. Don't twist the facts to state your point!

Each case is decided on it's own merits. Things go on in court that you never hear about plus there are plea bargains. There are also instances where a case is not strong enough to get a conviction so a lesser crime is filed to at least get a conviction of some sort.

Of course it's biased in favor of females. Also toward the wealthy, and celebrities. If I got caught twice driving drunk, I'd get a lot more than the 82 minutes that Nicole Richie (apt last name) got.

Our legal system is not only biased it's illegal to some extent. Judges are insane and most think they are above the law. Judges have become the legislators and their making laws that do not exist and then condemning the citizens they were supposed to give a FAIR trial!!!
You are now guilty until proven innocent!!
NO to the NWO...

Yes... the legal system is biased and is corrupt in many facets. We need to clean house in this area. Judges should more easily be held accountable for their decisions. Lawyers should be fined for bringing frivolous lawsuits to the courts and wasting the tax payers time and money.

I do. Black men are guilty until proven innocent while no one cares if rich drunk white btches drive at 120mph on crowded thoroughfares and hits a tree, or the wrong way on highways and high on coke! That behaivior would have gotten a black guy KILLED by police! (rich black or poor black)
