My parents say if i do not study engieering or join the indian army or be a doctor they will disown me and send me back to my country which is ........india.
I mean what the hell?? Is it there life or mine. I wanna do business and be a physicist but nooo u must be engineer like our ancestors. What the f""""
Who shud i contact about this as they r pretty violent ppl.
Plz dont suggest engineer and doctors are good professions as i have made up my own mind.

Strategy my boy, strategy. The first two years of physics and the first two years of some engineering overlap significantly. Further you can argue that as an engineer it will be important for you to understand simple business issues equivalent of the first year business course. You can register as an engineering major and take the courses for physics and business. By the end of your sophomore year you'll be eighteen and your parents will not have legal control. This works particularly well if you do "Electrical engineering". Should be no problem shifting to physics when you are "of age."

This is something you will have to work out with your parents.
Show your father why a physicist and an engineer are similar professions.
It's going to be an uphill battle all the way.

Ist Question? Do they abuse you. If they do turn them in. It is your life but right now your under there roof. How much longer do you have with School? Take there Corses but with extra time study hard on what you want to be. Contact the police when they hurt you and dont worry what will happen.

Is there an Uncle that your parents respect, who you could talk to and explain the situation, he may be able to intervene and help with this problem. I know Indian families are very controlling but you need to talk to another family member that your Father will listen to to help with your education problem.

Well if they are paying for your education than it is their choice, if do don't want to study that than get a job and pay for your own education. They cannot send you back for deciding something different and being an adult.
