I haven't had lessons from end of 05 - had a crash while was in private practice and 12 days before my actual driving test, failed twice miserably and left it there.

but now I want to tackle this damn thing and get it over and done with.
I'll do anything to pass my driving test and basically I want some advise or manuals / publications etc which can make me pass.

while ur still reading I am also trying to combine my professional tuition with private practice do you think it is a good idea.

from my experience its easier to practice for your test in the car you are planning to take the test in because each car handles differently on hill-starts etc, so stick to one and you should be ok. a good website for irish people such as myself is http://www.drivingschoolireland.com/Hill_Start.html it has tutorials for almost everything related to driving tests, and should be helpful for people outside ireland too. hope this helps and good luck in your test.

P.S. a little tip i found helpful is to eat a banana the night before and the morning of your exam, they are great at reducing stress. i know its a strange tip but i found that it works well (",)

I recommend having a 'stay safe' attitude whilst driving. Be cautious at all times.

There aren't really any books that could help you with your pratical. I also recommend sticking to professional tutition instead of combining the two. That way you won't get confuse or as anxious when it comes to the test.

The crashes and failed tests are not things to dwell on; they are things to learn from. Look at the test papers again and note any common mistakes or patterns (you will be suprised). If you found a pattern, it means that you have something to work on or keep praticing on.

If the pattern of mistakes are random, it is probably your frame when driving (approach, attitude, way you drive, etc).

Talk it through with your driving instructor.

Good luck

remember your mirror checks before any change of speed or direction, and check them in pairs,i.e. interior and left before turning left and interior and right before turning right.always check your blindspot before pulling away.and remember good all round observations always, especially on manouvres. and remember to apply the handbreak when stopping for any length of time, especially after the emergency stop .keep your distance from other cars so that you can use the two second rule. when stopping behind other cars make sure you stop so as you can see the car in fronts tyres and some of the roads tarmac. only signal if you think it will benifit anyone , but always signal when you are turning into a new road as you never know whats around the corner .dont signal too early or too late as this can cause confusion to other drivers. do not coast . make sure the clutch is up in good time before you turn the corner. brake progressivley rather than harshly .put all this into practice and you should pass the driving test. good luck.
